Webinar Tuesday 27 June - Future Powertrain: EV Options and Objectives

Electric Vehicle Energy Harvesting/Regeneration 20
Webinar Title: Future Powertrain: Electric Vehicle Options and Objectives Change Radically
Date: Tuesday 27 June 2017
Presenter: Dr Peter Harrop, Chairman, IDTechEx
Space is limited - reserve your seat today!
Those making mainstream vehicles travelling by land, water or air can no longer see pure electric versions as a "one day" option. Change is coming fast and it is vicious, particularly for land vehicles. The end game is now energy independent pure electric vehicles. That will even be followed by energy positive electric vehicles.
There are many examples in action today and big names have rollouts planned. At the other extreme, 48V mild hybrids are not commonly seen as EVs because their wheels are never driven electrically. They are a quick fix for those with production lines making conventional vehicles that will become illegal under impending carbon dioxide emissions laws. However, they will soon be capable of several pure electric modes. Making three new EV families!
The last year has seen many other U-turns of legislation, investment and objective. Notably in China, and by car giants Daimler and Toyota. Autonomous cars are at the peak of hype, but private cars will be banned or virtually banned in cities whether they are autonomous or not.
Autonomous Vehicles Land, Water, Air 2017-2037
This webinar will share some of the findings in the IDTechEx report Future Powertrains 2017-2027 External Link. It will make sense of these constant changes and what comes next as we hit peak diesel engine, internal combustion engine, lead acid battery, fossil fuel use in vehicles, hybrid vehicle and car in the next 15 years. Huge companies are going to be created and huge companies are going to have a "Nokia moment". Hold onto your seats.
Topics covered:
  • Latest view of powertrain options
  • Why power electronics becomes more important than batteries
  • Most components and systems will be replaced by others: new components, electrically smart body and windows
  • Three new enabling technologies just as important as power electronics, motors and batteries
  • Reflecting the new reality: world's first conference on "Energy Independent Electric Vehicles" in September
We will be holding exactly the same webinar twice in one day. Please register for whichever session is most convenient for you. Regular attendees please be aware that our morning sessions now start at 10am BST/GMT+1.
Please note that your details may be shared with our sponsors.
