Webinar Tuesday 16 August - Energy Harvesting MicroW to MW

Electric Vehicle Energy Harvesting/Regeneration 20
IDTechEx are hosting a free webinar on Tuesday 16 August 2016.

Webinar Title: Energy Harvesting MicroW to MW - Resurgent, Reinvented
Date: Tuesday 16 August 2016
Presenter: Dr Peter Harrop, Chairman, IDTechEx

Space is limited - reserve your seat today!

This webinar shares some of the research for the new IDTechEx report, Energy Harvesting: Off-Grid Microwatt to Megawatt 2017-2027 External Link.

EH makes electricity where you need it using free ambient energy. It has disappointed for sensors and actuators as toxic small batteries and hard wiring are tolerated for a bit longer but it will be vital for inaccessible Internet of Things nodes in huge numbers. Suitable EH being is being developed to enable major new sales of wearable technology. It could be a breakthrough in mobile phones.

EH is the clean part of off-grid renewable energy and a priority over biofuel/ oil as new laws bite. It will replace 600GW of diesel gensets and be key to microgrids. It is the basis of the new energy independent vehicles (EIV) now on sale - the end game in electric vehicles by land, water and air. Regeneration in vehicles is increasingly EH, involving reinvented electrodynamics, photovoltaics, thermoelectrics, piezoelectrics and other technologies.

Imminently practicable EH technologies triboelectrics and magnetostriction can span microW to megaW. Existing EH technologies are being rapidly reinvented as airborne wind energy (AWE) and solar roads. Stretchable and textile EH is improving from microW to mW with one type at watts. They will even become another form of integrated multi-mode EH. This huge potential is now of vital interest to companies in materials, apparel, electronics, electrics, automotive, marine, aerospace and more.
