Space is limited - reserve your seat today!
This webinar shares some of the research done for the new IDTechEx report, Industrial and Commercial Electric Vehicles on Land 2016-2026 . Industrial and commercial electric vehicles (ICEV) are the largest electric vehicle market in profits and sales and will stay that way. The webinar looks at the technology roadmap and the market forecasts.
Dominating are buses in made in China for the protected Chinese market and now beginning to sell worldwide - even pure electric double decker and articulated buses. There are large opportunities everywhere boosted by planned laws on locally-emitted acid gases and particulates not just the tough 2025 and 2030 laws on carbon dioxide causing global warming. On the way are car-free city centres and countries requiring all new vehicles to be electric.
The ICEV sector can afford to be first to buy new technology such the planned Tesla autonomous bus with no centre aisle that never slows traffic, the BYD bus landing billion dollar orders with its in-wheel motors and solar roof and the trialling Transit Elevated Bus straddling traffic. Consider the Aowei port truck using supercapacitors and no batteries, like some buses, jet engine truck range extenders being adopted in the USA and fuel cell forklifts grabbing a toehold. Charging on the move? We explain why intermittent catenary charging of pure electric heavy long distance trucks may comfortably beat the cost of inductive dynamic charging and stationary hydrogen charging. Lithium-ion batteries are coming in everywhere and in applications such as mining, trucks and buses they will often be huge. Buses are, and will remain, the largest value market for lithium-ion batteries.
This webinar will cover:
- Main ICEV sectors, regional differences, trends
- Strong new market drivers pushing electric
- Small versions such as pick-up trucks, vans, airport ground support go pure electric
- Large buses and trucks reinvented: many technologies, no agreement
- Market forecasts and technology roadmap
We will be holding exactly the same webinar twice in one day. Please register for which ever session is most convenient for you.
