Canadian start up Taiga Motors has unveiled what they claim will be "the world's first production electric snowmobile": the Taiga TS2. Taiga Motors says it is the first electric snowmobile in history capable of outperforming the best combustion snowmobiles while being vastly more efficient. 100km of range and 20 minute DC fast charge option. Starting at 15,000 USD. For more information see the IDTechEx report on Micro EVs, e-Bikes, e Scooters, e Motorbikes
The zero emission electric snowmobile was designed from scratch to be lighter than a traditional snowmobile at under 500 lbs fully loaded. This weight allows a smooth acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in 3s.
The Taiga TS2 vehicle is always improving with the latest automatic software updates with easy configuration of settings and app connectivity so that owners will also be able to configure their snowmobile from a mobile app with different riding modes. It has an integrated GPS for easy course mapping and accurate range estimation.
