Personal vehicle moves in all directions including upwards

ARCA Space Corporation has announced that it has created ArcaBoard. For the first time in history, every person will be able to fly whenever they want, wherever they want. Each time you ride the ArcaBoard you will find yourself at the center of a new exhilarating experience according to Arca Space Corporation, the creators of the ArcaBoard.
 
Arca Space Corporation reports that the ArcaBoard is a machine lifted by 36 high power electric ducted fans with a maximum thrust of 200 kgf (430 lbs). It has a built-in stabilization unit, meaning that ArcaBoard is stable in any condition and is a very safe platform to fly on. You will be able to utilize your phone for control and navigation of the vehicle itself. But for the most intense experience you can turn off the stabilization system and steer the ArcaBoard with your body.

Testing different structures, the company came to the conclusion that a shape so simple, yet so powerful, was the answer to our quest for perfection. A shape that can provide stability, durability and safely contain the tremendous power within.
 
36 electric ducted fans are more than enough to allow an average weight person, up to 110 kg (243 lbs) to use the ArcaBoard. There are 272 HP at the rider's disposal. The 110 kg (243 lbs) lifting capability is available only for the Enhanced Thrust version of the ArcaBoard. The Long Endurance version has a lifting capability of 80 kg (176 lbs), but the endurance will increase from 3 min up to 6 min.
 
 
How do you put 272 horsepower inside a vehicle slightly larger than a skateboard? The answer is with very great care. The Electric Ducted Fans (EDF), together with the controllers and the batteries, occupy 90 percent of the space inside the board. This generates a significant amount of heat that is dissipated using a high performance cooling system. By using 36 power fans Arca ensures that even in the case of multiple motor failures there are enough motors remaining to take over so you keep on riding.
 
If you want to enjoy the a smooth ride, the built in stabilization system will guarantee total stability when hovering or travelling at high speed. When taking turns the ArcaBoard will tilt in the direction of the turn to keep you firm and safe. However, if you really want to ride the ArcaBoard, turn off the stabilization system from your phone and control the board with your body.
 
The company uses aerospace grade composite materials to create a very lightweight though stiff and resilient structure, to house the 36 electric motors and batteries. The weight of the composite structure alone, at only 10 kg (22 lbs) is remarkable. 203,000 W is a huge amount of power and the composite structure is a good thermal insulator, but the forced cooling system allows the ArcaBoard equipment to remain cool, even during intense usage.
 
You can use an iOS, or Android smartphone to control the ArcaBoard via Bluetooth, with either the stabilization system on or off. When the stabilization system is on, you have nothing to do, but just to sit on ArcaBoard and move the phone from your hand, and the ArcaBoard will replicate your hand movements. When the stabilization system is off, you can control only the elevation from your phone.
 
 
The vehicle is able to fly up to 30 cm (1 ft) and with speeds up to 20 km/h (12.5 mph) and the overall performance is limited by the onboard sensors. The maximum endurance is 6 minutes, but with the ArcaDock accessory the user can be back in action in 35 minutes.
 
The company expects to start shipping orders in April 2016 with a retail price of US$19,900.
