There is a new generation of sensors that are directly printed on flexible plastic substrates.

Transparent conductive sheets (on glass or other substrates) are used in a variety of applications including touch screens, displays, lighting, photovoltaics, etc.

Last week the annual IDTechEx Printed Electronics USA event featured 160 exhibiting companies, over 200 presentations and approximately 2,200 attendees. Exhibitor attendance grew by over 50% and attendees grew by over 35% compared to the previous year.

IDTechEx is forecasting that the total market for energy harvesting devices will rise to $2.6 billion in 2024.
