Webinar Title: Fuel Cell Vehicles 2015-2030
Date: Tuesday 9 June 2015
Presenter: Dr Peter Harrop, Chairman, IDTechEx
Fuel cells have already replaced lead-acid batteries in vehicles without subsidy. No, not cars - forklifts. The world's first fuel cell cars available to rent appeared many years ago and this year the first fuel cell car for outright purchase appeared: the Toyota Mirai. Its zero pollution at point of use beats gasoline and diesel conventional cars and hybrid cars. It has much longer range than affordable pure electric cars. Trials of fuel cell buses peaked ten years ago because there is no longer any argument about whether they work well - they do. Indeed fuel cell buses have been in regular use in many of the world's cities for years. Successful fuel cell planes and even underwater vehicles have been demonstrated for years. Despite all this, some manufacturers, operators and governments are implacably opposed to fuel cells to drive vehicles along while others are strongly enthusiastic. They cannot all be right.
This webinar is based on the new IDTechEx Research report, Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles 2015-2030: Land, Water, Air, and will explain the following:
- The technology
- The economics
- What will be achieved when
- Which countries, companies and applications to watch
- The rationale of the critics and the enthusiasts
- The forecasts for various vehicle categories
